LUSH Haul + Zero Waste?

Hello. hello, hello everyone! Today I am going to be showing you some of the products I purchased at LUSH. If you do not know what LUSH is, it is a store which specializes in home made cosmetics, soaps and body care. Its a self-care dream essentially! With that being said, I've always heard about their products and I have been gifted a bath bomb or two, but I never really purchased anything myself. That was, until quarantine happened.
Now a little known fact about me is that I am a bath girl. I love having a bath with a nice relaxing bath bomb, or Epsom salts so when quarantine was starting to get to me I went online and I purchased some items that I thought would help me relax. While normally the selection is endless, it seems people had the same idea that I did so there weren't as many options available, however there was still a bunch to choose from and I in no way shape or form blame the company for their selection at the present time. Just something to note if you decide to purchase from LUSH right now.
There was also the delayed shipping but again, I still got all of the products I ordered before their estimated delivery date and I completely understand the delay considering we are in the midst of a pandemic. They have a bunch of orders and limited staff. They also are keeping everyone safe by using the correct equipment so I can wait 2 weeks for bath bombs. So thank you LUSH for all that you are doing!
LUSH & Zero Waste
Back to the haul! As you know, I have recently started my low waste journey and have started purchasing products with limited plastic packaging or purchase from a company that is making a different with the amount of plastic used. While LUSH does use plastic containers, if you return 5 clean containers to the store not only do they take them and reuse/dispose of them properly, but you get a free mask. That sort of incentive I can get behind.

It is also important to note that the company is vegetarian, cruelty free some products are vegan, and the company gives back to the community with their many charities. So because of that, I decided it would be a good company to shop at while starting my low waste journey. It should also be addressed that while yes they used packing peanuts to deliver the products they are a special kind which are compostable.
With that here are the products I purchased and here is what I think about them!
Gift Set

Sleepy
The first item I purchased was a gift set in the scent sleepy. This set includes a body wash and a body lotion in a lavender scent to help promote relaxation and to aid you in falling asleep. I love lavender, and I love a good gift set so I picked it up.
I always find gift sets are a great way to try travel size of multiple products without having to purchase the full item. While I am aware that that type of idea is in fact wasteful, with the return policy at lush I am more comfortable doing it with this company than I would at another less eco-conscious company. Great scent and the lotion is very nice!
Bath Bombs
Butterball

The first bath bomb I picked up was the butterball bath bomb. Oh my goodness, this is the first one that I have used and it is amazing! Not only does it dissolve quickly in the bath (no one likes waiting forever for the bath bomb to dissolve) but the Ylang Ylang scent is refreshing and there is chunks of fair trade cocoa butter embedded within the bath bomb that leaves your skin smooth and supple. I will repurchase!
Flower Power

This bath bomb is right up my ally. Its a bath bomb with rose oil in it and sunflower petals for decoration.
While I haven't used this one yet, It smells delicious and I am super excited to give it a go! It is also super luxurious feeling having a biodegradable muslin cloth around the bath bomb. Not only is it aesthetically pleasing, but it also saves on clean up which I appreciate.
Deep Sleep

This bath bomb also has a muslin cloth wrapped around the product which again just adds to the luxurious feel to it. This fizzer is jam packed with everything lavender. lavender oils, dried lavender and lavender absolute.
It is perfect for when I have a stressful day I am going to use this!
Floating Flower

This is another lavender scented bath bomb. It was cuter online, when the cocoa butter flower on top isn't melted, but If you order it during warmer months for delivery, don't expect it to be pretty when it arrives at your door. Either way that is a bunch pf cocoa butter which will leave my skin so smooth I can hardly wait to use it! The only down side is this one came wrapped in plastic. I am assuming it is because of the cocoa butter flower, and they do not want it to melt all over your other products but why plastic?!
Sex Bomb

This one I purchased because it looked like a rose bud. I am very happy that I did because I am a sucker for floral scents and that is exactly what it is.
Plus it is pink and will leave my bath hot pink and apparently there are sparkles in it so I am very excited to use this!
I am excited to see what happens with the flower in the middle of the bath fizzer. I'll let you know what happens!
Rose Clay Cube

This one I just picked up because it is pink and pretty! While there isn't any rose scent to it unfortunately, it does have bergamot oil and lemongrass oil! The website says it is supposed to be calming so we shall see whether or not I like it!
I do like how LUSH uses paper bags to package most of their bath bombs because that can be recycled while plastic can't!
Goddess

The last bath bomb I picked up was the goddess bath bomb. I purchased it just for the name alone but now that I have smelt it I am happy that i did.
With jasmine absolute and rose oil (the best) used to create this bath fizzer, I am going to save this for a time when I need a little something extra to my day! Very excited to try it!
Zero Waste Tin

This item is a tin which I can place my bar shampoos and bar soaps in when they are not in use. The only problem with bar soaps is that because the product doesn't have any sort of packaging, it can dissolve quickly from the steam and water of the shower. This tin will help with that. Plus I can reuse the same tin for the other bar products I get in the future!
Body Butter
Buffy

This is a body butter or moisturizer you use in the shower. So when your skin is wet, you rub this on your body and it'll rinse off in the shower leaving you nice and moisturized. While I haven't used it myself, I have heard amazing things!
Again, I do not like the plastic around it but I am assuming it is because it has a shea butter base and they are trying to contain it in transit. In the future, I will buy these products in store to save on the plastic
Masks
Mask of Magnaminty

This is a cult classic face mask. supposedly it is strong enough to fight against impurities, but it is gentle enough for the face!
I always like using face masks, and because I have heard about this for years I decided to give it a go!
Plus it is this type of jar that is returnable to LUSH.
Cup O'Coffee

This is another mask that I decided to give it a try. It looks to be a type of facial exfoliater which I am always a fan of plus it is a coffee scent! So I decided to give it a try!
I mean who doesn't love the smell of coffee right!
Shaving Cream
Dirty

Some people love shaving cream and some people hate it. I don't want to use it because I feel like it is an unnecessary step and product, but I have come to learn that I need to use one. My skin is so sensitive that If I don't use it I get ingrown hairs and my skin gets extremely aggravated.
With that being said I decided to give this product a try because it is a shaving cream which I need but it is more eco-friendly. Either way it doesn't hurt to try.
Body Lotion

Dream Cream
I have a body lotion addiction. Some people are addicted to makeup, some perfume, me I am addicted to body lotions. So, I picked one up because I love lotions and I wanted to see if a more low waste option worked better than the ones I currently use! I'll keep you posted!
Toothpaste
Miles of Smiles

This item I was super excited to try! Toothpaste is extremely wasteful, packaging wise, so I wanted to try toothpaste tabs which are supposed to work the same with less packaging. I tried this and as of right now I am not a fan. There was great lather to it and my teeth felt clean afterwords, however, I just don't like the taste of baking soda which is very strong in this product. I am able to use them if I use mouthwash after, so I will use the product up but I don't know if I will repurchase.
Well there you go! Here is my lush haul! So far I am really impressed with the items! For the price of the products and the quality of the products I would recommend and I would repurchase most of these products again! I am very excited to place my next order and of course, I will do another post to tell you what I got! Also, would you like me to do an update post after I finish these items to let you know how I feel about the product? Let me know down bellow!
