How To Survive Quarantine 2020

Hello Everybody!

What exactly is happening in the world right now?! I don't even know! What I do know is that It is a very scary and stressful time for everybody! With that being said, I am going to give you guys some advice on how to stay sane during this crazy time!

1) Learn Something New

Learning something new will help take you mind off of the uncertainty that you are probably feeling right now. I decided it would be fun to learn to knit. So I just went on to YouTube (your quarantine BFF) and searched up how to knit. It is as simply as that. So that task that you have been waiting for the "right time" to start.... take this as your sign to go!

2) Start a new hobby

This is pretty self explanatory! You can't go out and do what you normally do for fun, so learn something new to keep you active and sane! I started Yoga in February and it has really saved me during Quarantine. I can just pull up a yoga video on YouTube and go! So find whatever your passion is and explore (at a safe distance that is)

3) Find activities that de-stress you

Now I don't know about you but I am a little ball of stress on a good day. So, over the years I have learned the little activities and techniques which help me keep my mind off of things during these stressful times! My activities include...

- Word Searches

- "Color by the number Coloring Books

- Baking

4) Spring Clean

This was the first thing I started doing when Quarantine became mandatory. However, I know spring cleaning can get stressful because there is so much stuff to do so I suggest you break it down day-by-day. So on the first day I suggest cleaning the bathroom, the next day clean out your closet etc. This way you can take you mind off of your troubles while also cleaning your space. Because if you are anything like me you actually get more stressed when your space is a mess! Fix 2 problems at once!

5) Wake up Consistently

Finally, I suggest you try and wake up at the same time you would on any given day before this whole pandemic happened! This way you still have a productive day, but it will also help you when we all can get back to work because you are keeping the same routine you will need when re-entering the workforce!

6) Distance Yourself from the Media.

Now, I can already hear the comments now "you have to stay up to date because things are constantly changing" and yes you are correct. However, I am personally unable to watch the news because it stresses me out unnecessarily and it is difficult to calm down after. So I suggest not watching the news and asking someone who can handle watching the news to update you on the things you need to know! My Boyfriend and my Parents to do this for me and it really keeps me sane while ALSO keeping me updated!

There you have it! here are a few of the things that I am doing to try and keep myself sane! let me know what you guys are doing and remember to wash your hands and stay safe!
