25 Self-Care Ideas/ My Self-Care Routine

Welcome back everybody! Today I am going to be giving you guys and gals 25 of my favourite self care Ideas! Not only is this list good for our present day situation (Quarantine and all) but it is also good for everyday life when we just need to take some time and have a little TLC.
I am also going to be going over my daily Self-Care evening routine when I'm alone and not hanging out with my significant other!
25 Self Care Ideas
Workout/ Do Some Yoga

- I like to follow along with Yoga With Adriene and do one of her Unwind/ Bedtime yoga routines to really get relaxed and stay zen! I am in no way affiliated with her but I love using her routines to get me up and moving! There is also a routine for everybody regardless of skill level!
Do a Face Mask
- After you do your regular skincare routine (which is already self-care) go the extra step and pamper yourself with a face mask!
Do a hair Mask
- I like to put a hair mask in while I take a bath on these pamper days to really give my hair and scalp some TLC especially when I am putting my hair through the ringer through straightening and/or curling it regularly
Drink some tea
- For me, I like to have a nice cup of tea as a form of self care! Not only does it relax me before bed but on "Self-Care" days, I like to drink my absolute favourite teas! When I want a tea that is sweet I go for David's Tea - Forever Nuts. And when I want to really relax, I drink Buddha Blends - Sleepy temple Blend.

Have an adult drink (If you are legal)
- When Tea just wont cut it, I like to have a nice alcoholic beverage to take the edge off! I save the alcoholic beverages for Friday and Saturday self-care days though. On Sunday - Thursday I drink my tea!
Watch a movie
- On self care days, I like to cuddle up on the couch and watch one of the movies I have saved on my "to watch list" on Netflix. Or I watch one of my favourites!
Watch your favourite TV shows
- If I am not feeling a movie, I like to binge watch some of my recorded tv shows, or some off of Netflix! Either way, I am not getting my butt off of the couch!
Wear the comfiest of clothes
- After my bath, I ALWAYS put on my comfy clothes! They just help me relax and get me ready for bed! Over-sized sweaters and Yoga Pants are a must!
Have a nice relaxing Bath

- I am a bath person, so on my self care days I always have a scalding hot bath to help relax me!
Use Bath Bombs
- As previously mentioned, I am a bath person. Therefore, I like to save up my bath bombs for these special nights. I like the bath bombs from LUSH, also the bath bomb in a bag from Wick Witch is great if you are on a budget.
Drink Lemon Water
- When I am giving myself a little extra TLC, I like to put lemon and cucumber in my water to give it the spa feeling and taste! It just makes me happy to pamper myself!
Stay in PJ's All Day
- If I am having an all day pamper day, I stay in my pajamas the entire day, If i am having a self-care evening after my bath I put my comfiest Pajama's on! Slippers are a must!
Do Some Baking
- I love to bake myself some cookies on my self-care days, that way when I am relaxing on the couch watching TV, I have a sweet treat to snack on! Chocolate chips are my favourite!

Take a Nap
- On Self-care days, I try and take a nap. If I am overwhelmed and/or stressed, chances are I am not sleeping well. Therefore, I try and take a nap to get the rest I am lacking.
Go Outside, Get some Vitamin D
- Getting vitamin D is a must! If I don't want to go on a walk, I got out in the backyard with the animals and sit in a sun beam!
Meditate
- After yoga, I like to take some time and listen to a guided meditation. I am very new to meditation, however, I like the relaxed feeling it gives me so I like to try and meditate as much as I can.
Paint Your Nails
- On self-care days, I like to pamper myself and paint my nails. Whether is be putting on my favourite lotion or just painting my nails.
Tidy Up
- Before I can relax in my bath, I like to go around the room for 10 minutes and tidy up. I can't relax in a messy place so take 10 minutes and speed clean.
Go for a walk

- If I am up for a walk, I like to take our dog out with me. She is a rescue and isn't used to and doesn't really like walks. I take her on a quick walk around the block to get excercise and try and get her more comfortable around other dogs and people. I let her lead though, If she just wants to sit on the front lawn, that is what we do! we are getting Vitamin D either way!
Colour
- Sometimes on self-care days, I like to colour while watching my shows.
Do Some Crafts
- Or I like to do some crafts.
Read
- Reading is another thing I find myself doing on self-care days. Whether it be from my book of ghost stories, or my yoga books. I find reading for a few minutes makes be feel both productive and relaxes me.

Burn your favourite candles
- I have candles burning in my house daily, however, I save my favourite candles for those special self-care days. Now don't try and make me feel crazy! I know I am not the only one with "special candles".
Get Cozy with fairy lights and blankets
- After my bath I like to turn off all the lights in my room, other than fairy lights, and get all cozy while watching my shows! It makes me feel pampered and relaxed!
Use all of your favourite skincare products
- Finally, On self-care days, much like the candles, I use all of my expensive and/or favourite skincare items! Really makes me feel pampered and special and that is what we deserve on self-care days!
