Hey ya'll! Today I am going to be giving you another spiritual blog post! Let me know if you like these types of posts! I like doing them so until told otherwise I'll probably continue doing them!
So I just helped my partner move into his new space and we cleansed the space to ensure that nothing negative is left behind. This got me to thinking that I should write a post about how someone can cleanse their space if they do not know how to! That is why today I am going to tell you how I go about cleansing my space. It's a very simple routine but when done correctly it works absolute wonders! So here is my routine! In order to cleanse my space, or any space, I use sage to clear the negative energy surrounding me. I personally use sage because, from what I understand, sage, unlike paolo santo, removes ALL types of energy both good and bad. This is beneficial to me because I know that I am left with a clean slate where I can control what I put into my space to bring positive energy back into it.

If you are curious to know why I cleanse my space click this link here and it will take you to a post where I talk about why people cleanse their home and the different ways they do it! One way of cleansing being chopping up the sage and leave it burning in the shell. This allows for the smoke to fill the room and remove the negativity. I personally hold the sage bundle and go to every corner of the room to ensure nothing is lurking in the corners. Both work, it is all about personal preference!
Let it be known that I am no way a professional, but this was what I was taught and it seems to be working for me so I figured I could help my readers out!
Tools You Require
Sage bundle
This is a bundle of herbs that when the smoke fills the room it removes negative energy
Shell

this is a ceremonial tool which also catches the ashes that fall from the sage bundle. You do not need a shell, you can use any fire safe container which can catch the ashes so it does not fall on the floor.
Lighter
this is used to light the sage stick on fire (Obviously)
Sand (Optional)
This can be used to put out the sage stick after you are done cleansing. You can also pace a bowl or something over the lit sage stick. In doing so, you remove the access of oxygen which the flame needs to stay lit.
Feather (Optional)
Another ceremonial tool which you can use to waft the sage smoke into all corners of the room you are cleansing. I use a feather sometimes, other times I walk around with the sage bundle.
My Routine
1) Buy your Sage or Paolo Santo
- you can purchase it at any spiritual shop
2) Open windows and doors
- this allows the smoke and the negative energy in the smoke to leave the house
3) Start at the entrance to the space you are cleansing
4) Light your Sage
- allow the flame to burn on the sage bundle for 30 seconds to a minute
- this ensures that enough smoke is produced to fill the space

5) Allow the smoke from the sage to fill the space.
- Repeat this, or your own version all throughout the house
- "This space is only to be filled with light, love and positivity. All other energy is unwelcome and must leave with the smoke"
6) Sage and cleanse and doorways or windows
- before moving to the next room, swipe the sage along any door frames or window frames
- this ensures that no negativity can enter the home
7) Move in a clockwise motion to all rooms of the house repeating your phrase of choice.
8) Once finished extinguish sage bundle
- either with the sand or by removing oxygen
There you have it! That is how I go about cleansing my space and how I ensure that there is no negative energy in my home. You can do this as often as you would like. I do recommend doing it at least every few months that way you can keep anything negative out of your life.
